CLASSROOM NOTES and HOMEWORK

Welcome to 1G’s  First Grade:

Notes and Reminders from Mrs. Gentile:

I will be assigning homework Monday – Thursday.  The nightly assignments are listed below in the HOMEWORK section of the webpage.

Please check that you are able to use the Superkids site at home with your child as there will be occasions when I assign homework for them to do on the site.  All children have been moved into the first grade site under my class and you should be able to easily get to the activitis that align with our most current skills.

  • Students should be dressed in gym uniforms on Monday of each week. Please be sure to label their sweat shirts. Students may bring a water bottle for gym time.  It should be labeled with their name on it also.

  • Please check your child’s Daily Folder each day after school for notes and work papers.   After checking on your child’s behavior for the day you need to initial the calendar box and return the chart to their Daily Folder.

  • First grade lunch is at 11:40  and recess is at 12:05- 12:30.  We will go out for recess with the second grade.  Parents who are helping with recess duty can meet the students outside (back play area) for their recess.   Children may bring toys to school for recess as we discussed at BTS.

  • Please remember to send a daily snack for your child for our morning break.  Something healthy and simple would be best for this time of day.

  • SPECIALS SCHEDULE:  Monday/Gym    Tuesday/Music    Wednesday/Spanish     Thursday/Technology or Media   Friday/Art

REMOTE LEARNING  effective March 16th, 2020

March 15, 2020

Dear Students and Parents of First Grade,

To help Saint Joseph Regional School and the families we serve maintain continuity of learning due to the school closure, Mrs. Gentile and I (Sister Judy) have come up with an efficient, duel teaching response.

Mrs. Gentile and I (Sister Judy) will administer the First Grade curriculum and teaching standards remotely via GoogleDocs.  We will target a daily 4 – hour program covering the following subjects: Reading, Writing, Math, Science/Social Studies, Religion, and Creative Arts.

Mrs. Gentile and I (Sister Judy) will be available for questions and answers via school email during the hours of 8:00 am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Mrs. Gentile and I (Sister Judy) will post our assignments by 8:00am (and a recommended timeline for pacing) on GoogleDocs. Click here to access all assignments daily. We will be using various platforms to continue educating our students.

Attendance will be taken each day based upon completion of work.  In order for your child to be marked Present for the day, you must email your child’s teacher to let her know that your child has completed all the assigned work.  All finished work is to be put in your child’s “Take Home” folder and will be due back the first day school reopens.

Please let us know immediately, if you do not have a computer or IPAD to complete any of the assignments during our school closure.

We want to take this time to thank you so much in advance for all your time and cooperation in working together with us to continue your child’s education at home during this time. We hope to see you all back soon! A big hug to all our boys and girls!

Stay well and God Bless,

Sister Judy and Mrs. Gentile
