Welcome to 1G’s  First Grade Page

Week of  October 16, 2017

Change over to winter uniforms (gym uniforms too) begins Monday, October 16th.

We have started Adventures of the Superkids in class.  I have updated the games and activities that are part of unit 1 which are fun and beneficial for your child to be using at home.  Please encourage them to use these materials and read some of the books too.  We will have a spelling test on Friday on our Unit 1 memory and pattern words.  I will assign spelling homework during the week to help students prepare for the test.    In Math, we are finishing up Chapter 2 subtraction concepts, and will have a math assessment at the end of the week.     Don’t forget that it is SOCKTOBER,  and here at SJRS we are collecting new socks to share with those in need.  If possible have your child participate in this drive.  For your reference, I will be emailing  Our 1G Class List to each family.  However, if your child’s name is not on our list it is possible you won’t get this email.    Let me know if you want to be added and we will do that.   A few families did not send in the form we used to generate our list.  Please reach out to our room mom, Kristen Handel if you are available to help her with some of the activities during the year.   She will need helpers for November 1st, All Saint’s Day Celebration.
