Science/Social Studies/Writing

Part one:

Visit National Geographic Kids Earth Day site here:

https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/explore/celebrations/earth-day/

Read the article and spend some time exploring the activities they have posted.  You can play a wacky word game, take a quiz to see what kind of planet protector you are, make your own paper straws, and find other ways that you can help save our planet.

Once you have checked out this site tell me the three most interesting things you experienced, read about, or explored.

Part two:

Spend some time outside if possible!!

Take a walk with your dog, explore your backyard, ask mom or dad if there is anything you can do to help in the yard, and so on.  God gave us this beautiful planet…get out there and enjoy it (safely, of course!!)

**A special note**

I know that even as we embark on week 3 of Remote Learning we are still working on getting used to all of the expectations.  I try to keep to a pattern for the week, just as I would in the classroom, so that the students (and parents!) can establish a routine.  If, at any time, you are feeling overwhelmed by the work or have questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.  Use your discretion!  If you are working beyond four hours, or are just having ‘a day’ feel free to let me know that you need some extra time to complete the assignments.  Parents, I can not express my gratitude for working so well with me, and your children, so that we can continue as close to business as usual as possible.  Remember, I am an email, phone call or text away!

With respect,

Kristi Crouch
