Dear Parents,

FYI!

1- I have extended the due date for the Gillian’s Reading Program. Please fill out reading log and return by Monday/ April 8th if you have not done that yet. All papers will be turned into Gillian’s on that day. Event is on May 11th.Thank you!

2- Yearbook forms coming home. If you are interested please send back money and form as soon as possible.

3- **All Animal Books and outline form are due by Monday/ April 8th. We will be working on Part 2 here in school next week.

4- Just a reminder that our Outreach April School Project is collecting new books for our local hospital. If you can send into school a new book that would be great. Thank you to all who have already sent into school a book or two.

5- We have been studying the value of Money. I have opened up A General Store named ” Sister Judy’s General Store”. If you would like to donate any items to this store that would be great. We are doing a great job counting the value of money and also identifying each coin. Along with buying some fun items at the store to keep. Thank you for your generous donations if you are able to help us out with this project.

6- After Easter Break out Field Trip forms will be coming home. Please look for them/ fill out permission slips and return back to school as soon as possible. Our trip to the Cape May Zoo is May 31st. Hope you are able to join us for this fun day!!!

Happy April!!!

A few quick reminders:

1- All Non-Fiction animal books are due on Monday/ April 1st for approval before project begins this week. Look for outline papers in your child’s Blue Folder this week. They also can bring in a printed picture or draw a picture of their animal on a separate paper with the outline. The rest of the project will be done here at school.

2-Just a reminder that school is closed on Friday/ April 5th / Teacher In-Service Day!

3- Classroom Alert! If you can send in a roll of paper towels to help us out in the classroom that would be great.Thanks!

** May 31st/ Class Field Trip – Cape May Zoo/ Permission slips will be coming home after Easter Break.

Happy March!

** A permission form coming home this week for another project here at school. If your child is chosen a photo will be taken of them. So we need to have the forms filled out and ready to go if they are picked. Thanks!

** March “New” book outreach. Thank you to all who have sent books into school. If you can send in a new book that would be appreciated. All books are going to our local hospitals.

** Keep those pennies coming in. We are about to count our first round in our collection. Our goal is $100.00 by June.

** Empty egg  cartons with 12 plain , plastic eggs are due by March 29th.

Dear Parents,

A few reminders for the Month of February:

***VALENTINE’S DAY TREATS AND CARDS ARE DUE BY WEDNESDAY / JANUARY 13TH***

*** LAST DAY FOR DR. SEUSS BOOKS BY TISH RABE IS ON MONDAY/ FEB. 11TH/ NO MORE ORDERS AFTER THAT DAY. ***

1- All “H” copybooks are to come back to school each day. Many are forgetting them at home. Thanks!

2- Thank you for all your support in our Hats & Glove Drive. Today is the end of the drive. We collected 239 items. These items were sent to our Local Food Pantry and the AC Rescue Mission.

3-Keep those pennies coming in. We are filling up our tin here at school. Our goal is $100.00 for the year.

4- Today/ February 8 the 1st grade came together with their 6th Prayer Buddies and made 1401 sandwiches for the AC Rescue Mission. A great experience of helping our Dear Neighbor.

Happy February!!!

Did the Groundhog see its shadow? Will we have 6 more weeks of Winter or will it be an early Spring?  My vote is for an early Spring!!!!! How about you!!!

** A few reminders for the week!!!

  • All 100th Day hats are due on Thursday / Feb. 7th
  • Great job on the pennies and box tops. Keep them coming into school.
  • Our outreach project here at school is still collecting hats, gloves and scarves for the poor through the month of Feb..
  • Valentines’s Day is coming up in a few weeks. If your child would like to bring cards and small treats in for their classmates they can start bringing them into school on Friday – Feb. 8th. We will be making a Valentine mailbag here at school for all of these items. Thanks!!!

HAPPY CATHOLIC SCHOOL WEEK!!!

** Please try to join us on Sunday here at Saint Joseph Church for 10 am Mass. If you come to worship here at the 10 am Mass the students are asked to wear their school uniform to celebrate kicking off Catholic School Week.

We have so many wonderful activities going on this week here at SJRS for Catholic School Week!

Book Fair for 1-J will be on Wednesday afternoon. You can also visit the Book Fair during our Open House on Tuesday Night .

To celebrate Catholic School Week I am only asking the children to work on their 100th Day Hats which are due on Feb. 7th and to read a book or two. Don’t forget to mark your chart.

** Keep bringing in those pennies. Great job!!!

** At this time in January we have collected 150  Hats, Gloves  and Scarves so far and they have already been sent down to the Somers Point Food Pantry . Please only NEW items. No used items for our collection. Thank you for your support.

Happy Third Week of January!

** Thank you for sending into school hats and gloves. Please keep them coming. These are going to our community poor and our weather these days you really need them.

** Keep those pennies pouring in! Our container is filling up. Thank you!

** Our Daily chart will be starting on Monday/ 1-14th. Check your child’s blue folder and sign the day. Charts stay in the folder for the week.

** Our Test Assessment folders will be coming home sometime this week. Please look over papers , sign folder and RETURN EVERYTHING in the folder back to school the next day. marking period end s on Jan. 25th.

Happy New Year Everyone!

My prayer for each of you and your families is for a healthy and blessed New Year 2019!

A few reminders for this short week:

No formal homework for this short week. Just move into this time very slowly.

Review Memory & Pattern Words and Read a book and mark your charts.

** Our January Outreach Project will be to collect Hats & Gloves for the needy as our weather gets colder.

** Another classroom project during this New Year 2019 will be to collect pennies for the poor. This project will be from now until the end of the school year. Our goal is to collect $100.00 as a class. Thank you for your support in this project. The $ will be going to our friends in the Dominic Republic. Over the last few years we have been in close support with our friends in the Dominic Republic to help them with many of there needs as a community. Thank you again for all that you do for us here at Saint Joseph’s and for our many friends in our surrounding communities.

Dear Parents,

Happy 3rd Week of Advent!

A few reminders for a very exciting week ahead of us!

***On Tuesday/ Dec. 18th your child is to wear their Christmas best for our morning show.

No Formal Homework this week. Please just review Memory & Pattern Words and basic facts over the Christmas Break.

Thank you for your generous donation of pajama’s . We collected 40 pairs of PJ’s and they already were picked up to be used for a needy cause right here in our county.

** If your child is interested in bringing in cards or small treats  for their classmates they are due by  Wed./Dec. 19th.

** If your child didn’t bring in their can of white icing for our project here at school. It is due on Wed. / Dec. 19th .

** Students are asked to bring in 1 can of white icing on Dec. 14th  for a Christmas project here at school. Thanks.

** Don’t forget this Wednesday/ Dec. 12th is our special Movie Day!!!

** If your child would like to bring in Christmas cards and small treats for their friends they may start to bring them in next week. Last day will be Dec. 19th. No names on the outside of the cards only sign their name inside the cards.  Have fun!

Pajama Program/ All PJ’s due by Dec. 10th  Thanks!!

Santa Secret Sale for 1-J is on Monday Dec. 3rd. Please send into school the shopping list and $ for your child to shop on Monday. Also don’t forget a recycle bag for their items. If you would like to purchase a recycle St. Joseph bag just send into school an extra $2.50 and they can purchase a bag here at school for their items.

Welcome Back! I hope everyone enjoyed your Thanksgiving time with family ad friends.

** Parent Teacher Conferences start this Tuesday/ Nov. 27th through Thursday/Nov. 29th. If you haven’t signed up for a time , please sign up before tomorrow/ Nov. 27th.  Early Dismissal at 12 Noon all 3 days.

** Superkids Memory Test was scheduled for this Friday/ Nov. 30th. I am extending until Monday / Dec. 3rd.

** Each Student needs  1 New box of Crayola Crayons Twistables. Thank you!
