Hello to all! I trust everyone had a fulfilling summer. September is upon us and I am both honored and excited to be your child’s teacher this year. I am looking forward to meeting all the goals and challenges that are in store for us. Chapter 17: The Civil War

~Friday, 10/19: Graduation gowns will be sent home with your child.

~Monday, 10/22: School Closed for Teacher In-Service.

~TEST: Chapter 17~ The Civil War on Tuesday, 10/23.

~Tuesday, 10/23: WINTER UNIFORMS begin, please comply with the dress code.

~Friday, 10/26: PICTURE DAY (details discussed in class, envelopes went home 10/18).

***Each month Sister Judy embodies the Corporal Works of Mercy… this month the school is collectively gathering packages of new white socks for those in need. What an easy way to incorporate our theme of “kindness” this year. 🙂

7TH GRADE~ LESSON PLANS: Week of Monday, 10/22

AMERICAN NATION TEXT BOOK:~Familiarize yourself with text book online component: Go to  www.phschool.com. Select Course Content, select Companion Web Sites, select Social Studies, select American Nation Text Book, select “Beginnings…” and review the “Resource Center” section. Pay careful attention to the “Online Skills Tutor” section. PRACTICE 🙂

CHAPTER 4: The 13 English Colonies~ working on Sections 2 & 3

~TEST: Chapter 3: Exploration and Colonization on Friday, 10/12. Please use ALL of your resources when reviewing information.

~Monday, 10/15: Review test on Chapter 3

~Monday, 10/: Complete Key Terms p. (definition and sentences in context)

~Thursday, 10/: Complete questions #1 (people) and 3~5 p. (if necessary)

*GRATITUDE & LUV for all of you who either walked, donated or did both this past Sunday, 10/14 to benefit our annual Walk To End Hunger and Homelessness. What a wonderful way to get involved and be a part of something for the greater good!!
*A SPECIAL SHOUT~OUT to the 2018-2019 STUDENT COUNCIL. All ten members took time out of their last weeks of summer to come to school and help facilitate first floor teachers in setting up their classrooms. Also, many volunteered to assist Mrs. Zinckgraf and Miss Terry with their Pre-K Back-To-School events. KUDOS to you all (and your parents, too) for your kindness and commitment to being leaders of SJRS!
