Thank you for a great First Day of School!

Thank you parents and students for a wonderful First Day of School!

The students were well rested and well prepared to start the year.  The supplies everyone sent in were very much appreciated, and this will give us a wonderful inventory.  Thank you!

The rest of the school supplies will be asked for next week.

To begin our school year, we have the following information to assist you at home:

MATH – During the next few weeks, our math class will be learning to estimate and solve addition and subtraction problems using numbers through hundreds.  You can expect to see homework that provides practice adding and subtracting numbers as well as estimating sums and differences.

WLA – Our first story will be First Day Jitters.  Students will concentrate their LA skills in the areas of Character, Setting, and Plot.  We will have a Spelling Test next Thursday (words will be coming home).  We will also have a Reading Comprehension Test on the story the same day.

RELIGION –  Students will begin showing what it means to be Catholic.  Our project This Is Us  will highlight our Catholic Identity.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES  –  These areas begin next week.  Look for important information in your child’s Take Home folder.

If there are any questions, please just email me.   It is a sincere pleasure working with your children.  I look forward to a wonderful year.

Fondly,

Mrs. McFadden
