Dear St. Joseph Regional School Families and Friends,
It has been a true blessing to have been chosen as your Interim Principal. Our school year is off to a wonderful start. Our teachers and staff have been working diligently to be ready to bring best practices to the classroom for our eager and bright St. Joseph students.
We have participated in numerous masses at St. Joseph church celebrated by our Father Jaromir Michalak since the school year began. Father has recently been named Pastor of St. Joseph Church in Somers Point. He is already well known by our students, faculty and staff as a wonderful asset to our school community.
This year we are very happy to welcome three new teaching staff members. We shall post photos and a bio of each on this website very soon. First, we have Mrs. Maureen Sullivan who is our Art teacher for grades K to 8. Our new Spanish teacher is Mr. Anthony Gitto. And our Regular Education teacher is Mrs. Trish Rymas. Join me in welcoming each of them.
My first goal as your Interim principal was to get to know our teachers and staff. They have made that task quite easy for me. Secondly, I intend to continue to get to know each and every student at St. Joseph Regional School. Your children are quite special. I see God in each and every one of them. Again, I am so blessed to be working with them.
And thirdly, we have our Middle States Committee evaluation team visiting us the first week of November. So, needless to say, we are quite busy making sure all of the necessary documents and activities are well planned and executed for their visit. We want to thank Miss Maria Dillon, grade 4 teacher, who has taken on the job as our Middle States Chairperson. Miss Dillon has worked so hard all spring, summer and fall, letting each of us know what to expect. We are READY!!!!
Remember that the best way I have to communicate with parents and guardians is through our Cornerstone email system. Please, be sure to access your email daily.
It has always been my practice over my 45 year career to always be accessible. You will see me outside mornings and afternoons frequently, and you may email me at email@example.com or you may phone me at 609.927.2228 X 10. Also, our gracious secretary, Mrs. Ellen Fletcher is also available at our front office. She may be reached by phoning 609.927.2228 X 11 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
And finally, I want you to know that my goal is to continue to move our school in a forward direction as you have focused upon in the past.
Once again, we are pleased to announce the Saint Joseph Regional School Annual Fund 2017-2018: Always Forward in Christ!
Always Forward in Christ is our direction; it’s how we move, no matter what. We have faced more than our share of challenges this year, including personal loss and trauma and a couple more related to the economy and the loss of courtesy busing, but we continue to move forward, always forward in Christ! This year is about all of us coming together as one family in Christ Jesus to experience the never-ending mercy of God the Father.
Please know that your gift to the Annual Fund helps keep our faith community and school family moving in the right direction – Always Forward in Christ!
It provides critical resources for educational materials, instructional equipment, and new technology.
In fact, every component of student life is enriched by the Saint Joseph Annual Fund. Your gift can be designated for a specific use or we will utilize it in allowing us to maintain a modern, state of the art school complete with interactive white boards, new computers, online instructional programs, updated textbooks, and wireless internet. These 21st Century amenities help us encourage students to question, seek understanding, and practice tolerance during formal instruction, discovery, and experiential activities.
Saint Joseph Regional School is well known for its impressive combination of learning about our faith and participating in ways to deepen our faith; academic excellence; and athletic achievement. The Annual Fund also helps provide the resources our student-athletes need to maintain our familiar championship standards and provide the modern facilities they deserve. For example, the Annual Fund helped provide the gym floor a few years ago and recently, two computer labs for our students.
This year, we continue to be focused on school security and safety; upgrading our technology for teachers and students; as well as professional development for our teachers in both faith formation and teaching strategies.
The Saint Joseph Annual Fund also provides for the numerous educational experiences and service learning opportunities afforded to our students. Many of these programs and projects, both co-curricular and extra-curricular (like the greenhouse pepper project, the indigenous garden, and our clubs), help Saint Joseph Regional School students develop mature relationships with God, their neighbors, and the world around them.
Your gift to the Saint Joseph Annual Fund is a perfect demonstration of the true spirit of Christian charity. This year we are asking you to consider making a gift of at least $150.00. However, every gift, of any size, helps St. Joseph Regional School Community. With your gift, you play a role in moving Saint Joseph Regional School Always Forward in Christ as it continues to foster the development of the whole child: academically, spiritually, physically, and emotionally within a gospel-centered environment.
Please join me in supporting the Saint Joseph Annual Fund, Always Forward in Christ. We appreciate your generosity.
Do not hesitate to phone me at 609.927.2228 X 10 to ask questions or to discuss where you would like to see your donation spent.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus Pray for each of us and for our families,
Janice DeCicco Fipp, Ed. D. Interim Principal
